Home Sweet Home
We made it back home!! The trip was absolutely exhausting but it went smoothly. We got in on Sunday afternoon and were able to move right in to the house we're renting. The house is in Baltimore City which is exactly what we wanted. We are so close to everything! We are city-lovers and always find ourselves downtown doing various things so we decided to just live here. The best part is that we are literally a ten minute walk from work! Jay is working at his old job at the NIH and I got a position there as well. We bought bikes this week so the trip is even shorter. Jay started on Monday but my first day isn't until the 17th. I've had plenty of time to unpack and get settled in. Oh, and we even have a grassy backyard for Remus which he LOVES! I don't know if everyone is happier to see us or Remus. He is getting quite a bit of love from everyone.
So all-in-all we're thrilled to be back in town and around all our family and friends again. Now I'm heading back to my little world of boxes!! We'll be sure to post pictures of the house once there's a little less cardboard around.

We're going to pick up the moving truck today! We are all packed up and ready to go. We'll load the truck up today and leave first thing tomorrow morning. After a few rigorous driving day, w e should arrive in Baltimore on Saturday morning. We would greatly appreciate anyone who wants to help us unload the truck. There will be free pizza!!

Remus had the change removed from his stomach yesterday. They retrieved it with no problem and he came out of the anesthetic just fine. You would never even know anything was wrong.

That's what Remus apparently thinks he is. He got hold of some change on the night stand yesterday and I was fairly sure he swallowed some. When he didn't pass it today, we called the vet and went in for an X-Ray.
It looks to be about 27 cents worth. You can see the 3 coins on the front, bottom part of his stomach there on the left (the white blob). He's going to have an endoscopy tomorrow to remove it. Hope for his sake that it stays in his stomach so they don't have to do surgery.

What did I do?
You can't do much without Remus trying to "help". I was trying to take pictures of my market bag to post on Ravelry. Of course, Remus wouldn't stay out of my way. I only managed to get one picture without him in it. He's lucky he's cute!

Today is my last day as a retail queen (hopefully for good.) Jay has one more week of work and we just have one week left in San Diego! Could I be more excited? I don't think so.

So it has been ridiculously hot here this week; it got up to 102 degrees yesterday. I wandered over to good ol' weather.com to see how long this was going to last and saw a "Special Weather Statement" at the top in bold. I, of course, clicked with high expectations for something significant. This is what all the commotion was about:
.. SIGNIFICANT WEATHER CHANGE COMING TO SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA BY THIS WEEKEND…
UPPER LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE THROUGH CALIFORNIA SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY. THIS WILL BRING THE FIRST CHANCE OF WIDESPREAD RAIN TO COASTAL AREAS SINCE LAST SPRING… AND ALL AREAS EXCEPT THE LOWER DESERTS HAVE A POSSIBILITY OF RAIN. PROJECTED RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL MOST LIKELY BE BETWEEN 0.10 AND 0.20 INCHES… BUT SOME COASTAL SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS COULD RECEIVE OVER ONE-QUARTER OF AN INCH.
So I say again…seriously?? I know I have talked about the weather here a lot, but I just found this hilarious. Everybody get ready! There is going to be some crazy weather here in a few days! That's hardly enough rain to wet the sidewalk.

Big News
drumroll please….
We are moving back home! October 25th we will embark on yet another cross country journey but this time we are heading back to Baltimore. I am incredibly homesick so Jay agreed to go back. That's all the news for now. We are really excited.

Today is a nice day off for the working citizens of the United States (I guess Jackie does not count…she is a work). We celebrate all the labor that has been done for the betterment of our country.
